Katniss Everdeen, girl on fire, has survived, even though her home has been destroyed. Gale has escaped. Katniss's family is safe. Peeta has been captured by the Capitol. District 13 really does exist. There are rebels. There are new leaders. A revolution is unfolding.

It is by design that Katniss was rescued from the arena in the cruel and haunting Quarter Quell, and it is by design that she has long been part of the revolution without knowing it. District 13 has come out of the shadows and is plotting to overthrow the Capitol. Everyone, it seems, has had a hand in the carefully laid plains--except Katniss.

The success of the rebellion hinges on Katniss's willingness to be a pawn, to accept responsibility for countless lives, and to change the course of the future of Panem. To do this, she must put aside her feelings of anger and distrust. She must become the rebels' Mockingjay--no matter what the personal cost


My Thoughts:
   I was really disappointed in this book. Why? do you ask yourselves well because of three things. First, I don't know about you guys but for me it felt rushed. One moment Katniss was being a model for the rebellion and next she was in a deadly mission. It just felt to rushed and my emotions were in a roller-coaster. 
   So second point, I absolutely hate it that they killed Prim. After all Katniss went through for her sister it's kind of ironic that she dies. And how at the end Katniss mom just abandons her it's cruel. I know shes suffered a lot and that she lost most of her family, but she still has Katniss. I guess she left Katniss because she knows she's strong and is really independent and doesn't need from anyone.
   And lastly, I absolutely dislike how Katniss and Peeta end up together. It feels like Katniss didn't have another option but to choose Peeta. And then there's Gale. Who I think was a big hypocrite, didn't he truly loved Katniss? So why did he let her go? He didn't even fought for her. And I despise how at the end they made him seem like a psychopath. I understand he felt bad about making that bomb that at the end killed Prim, but Katniss shouldv'e understood that it wasn't his fault. Gale was being used, and besides after all the years he helped Katniss hunting and helping each other feed their families this is how she repays him.
    So as you can see I was really upset at how this book ended. But at the end it was kind of a perfect unperfect ending. It is realistic, I understand that they just won a big war and that some people had to die and sacrifices had to be made. I don't have to love the ending but it is realistic and it's what I would expect from a book that has a rebellion involved.

Katniss and Peeta should be happy. After all, they have just won for themselves and their families a life of safety and plenty. But there are rumors of rebellion among the subjects, and Katniss and Peeta, to their horror, are the faces of that rebellion. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge.


My Thoughts:
I couldn't put this book down. That's how epic it was! I finished it in two days and that was because I had to go to school and attend to drivers ed. Catching Fire picks up where The Hunger Games left. Katniss without knowing so becomes the face of the rebellion. The districts are becoming more rebellious and they will start to fight back. This time they won't keep silent. If you thought that the capitol was evil during The Hunger Games get prepare to experience a new whole level of malevolent. In Catching Fire some of your questions are answered but more questions arises. The characters are great, Suzanne Collins has a true gift of writing, it feels like you know the characters in real life. You can't stop but empathize with them. The setting is just so perfectly describe that you feel like you are right next to the characters. The old and new characters are well developed that you will find yourself thinking of them as friends and some as enemies. Catching Fire has like The Hunger Games action, horror, and romance. I like that it's not super romantic, the romance and the action balances each other perfectly it's not overdone. Lastly the storyline is just unique. Suzanne Collins is awesome, how she could come up with something like this is unbelievable.
