Within the walls of Baalboden, beneath the shadow of the city's brutal leader, Rachel Adams has a secret. While other girls sew dresses and obey their male Protectors, Rachel knows how to survive in the wilderness and deftly wield a sword. When her father, Jared, fails to return from a courier mission and is declared dead, the Commander assigns Rachel a new Protector, her father's apprentice, Logan--the same boy Rachel declared her love for two years ago, and the same one who handed her heart right back to her. Left with nothing but a fierce belief in her father's survival, Rachel decides to escape and find him herself. But treason against the Commander carries a heavy price, and what awaits her in the Wasteland could destroy her.
At nineteen, Logan McEntire is many things. Orphan. Outcast. Inventor. As apprentice to the city's top courier, Logan is focused on learning his trade so he can escape the tyranny of Baalboden. But his plan never included being responsible for his mentor's impulsive daughter. Logan is determined to protect her, but when his escape plan goes wrong and Rachel pays the price, he realizes he has more at stake than disappointing Jared.
As Rachel and Logan battle their way through the Wasteland, stalked by a monster that can't be killed and an army of assassins out for blood, they discover romance, heartbreak, and a truth that will incite a war decades in the making.

My Thoughts:
This is a great book. I like how this book has everything. Two heroes (girl & boy), action, rebellion, romance, and suspension. It kept me reading all night long. No kidding, I finished this book like at two in the morning. I like how the characters are well developed. Rachel is fierce but has flaws, she is strong but at the same time vulnerable. Logan is a funny character that will keep you guessing what he will do next. He is handsome, smart, strong, and has a good heart. I like how he keeps trying to protect Rachel. He is not your typical guy that you read in other books. The only problem that I had with this book was when Rachel was grieving and was emotionally unstable and Logan pushed her to tell him that she loved him. And Rachel had just said that she could not bring herself to say those words. But other than that this book will make you keep flipping the pages and it will make you cry. Can't wait for the next book.

Dangerous Boy

Review: Dangerous Boy By Mandy Hubbard

Dangerous Boy

A modern-day retelling of The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde with a chilling twist Harper has never been worried about falling in love, something she is skeptical even exists. But everything changes when Logan moves to town, and to Harper's shock, the two tumble into an intense romance. It's everything she never thought she wanted.
Then she meets Logan's twin brother, Caleb, who was expelled from his last school. True, he's a bad boy, but Harper can't shake the feeling that there's something deeply sinister about him--something dangerous. When Logan starts pulling away, Harper is convinced that Caleb's shadowy past is the wedge being driven between them. But by the time she uncovers the truth, it may be too late.
The author of Prada & PrejudiceYou Wish, and Ripple delivers a modern-day retelling of a famously gothic tale, full of suspense, lies, and romance.

My Thoughts:
My initial reaction to this book when I finished it reading was that of EXTREME shock. And why is that? Well because I had never read The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and so I had no clue how this book would have ended. I know how stupid of me for not knowing Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde right? But I was actually grateful of my ignorance, because if I had known what would have happened I would have NOT read the book. You see I have mixed feeling for this book, I am not sure if I like it or not. When I read the prologue it captured my attention and I started to read the book fast. At the beginning there was a great sense of mystery that had you turning the pages non-stop. With dead birds appearing, stop signs being stolen, and red bloody hand prints appearing in the windows of the cars at school there was that sense to find who it was responsible for all of this. But then as I kept reading I ran into a big concrete wall. I started to get bored and impatient, the story seemed to be dragging on forever. When Logan wasn't being suspicious the book was filled with "Let's help Harper get over her fears" moments. And her fears were not even that scary. The characters didn't come to live for me. To be truthful I thought that they were just character that were there to take up space. There's also the fact that I didn't like when everyone was telling Harper to call the police and she ignored them. It was like if she was asking to be abducted. And lastly, I didn't like the ending. I guess I didn't like it because I am a sucker for romance and this book did not have it. At the end it feels like Harper doesn't like Bick, in fact I don't think they belong to one another. Is it bad that I wanted Bick to end up with the mean bee queen of the school? Overall it was a good book it's just that I don't know how I feel about it.

Beautiful Creatures Movie Trailer

So I was surfing YouTube when I came across this trailer. Awesome right? Can't wait to see the movie! The trailer seems cool, it's actually what I expected. I only have one problem...the characters! Ethan looks way too older for Lena. He is NOT what I pictured while reading this book. Lena also seems to young but she'll do. I actually think she looks pretty when she is wearing that black long dress. I hope that I can see the movie without being disgusted by older creep Ethan.  So here is the trailer...

And by the way have you seen the poster?? It is super awesome, so awesome actually that I want it! Maybe I'll tell a friend that works at the movies to get me one. Anyways, here's the poster...

Fated

Review: Fated By Alyson Noel

Fated (Soul Seekers, #1)
Title: Fated
Series: The Soul Seekers
Book#: 1
Pages: 352
Author: Alyson Noel
Publisher: St. Martin's Griffin
Rating: Photobucket.5

Until now, he's existed only in her dreams -
but fate is about to bring them together.
I shove through the crowd, knocking into girls and bouncing off boys, until one in particular catches me, steadies me.
I feel so secure, so at home in his arms.
I melt against his chest-lift my gaze to meet his. Gasping when I stare into a pair of icy blue eyes banded by brilliant flecks of gold that shine like kaleidoscopes, reflecting my image thousands of times.
The boy from my dream.
The one who died in my arms.

My Thoughts:
So the book started of slow and it took me awhile to get into it. At first I didn't like Daire she seemed a bit conceited and selfish. I guess the conceited part because she is seeing that famous boy. And she is kind of selfish in giving a big tantrum when her mother send her to her grandmother. Doesn't she grasp that she is putting her mother and other people in danger because of her crazy outbursts? But as the book continued I got into it. I like the characters, they are well written. Cade is a bratty antagonist which makes him interesting, and Dace is just lovely. I like how Daire doesn't throw herself at Dace, like most girls do in other books. Their love develops slowly and that's what is so captivating about their relationship. I also like that Daire is so focused on what needs to be done. Another thing that I like is that when she is told the truth about who she is she denies it but then get on board with it. I guess she takes it on well because of her background, since little she has had to move on a lot so she has to adapt quickly. The plot is also original, I like how Alyson Noel explored both cultures of the Native Americans and the Hispanics. It turned out to be a really good book and I can't wait to read the next book.

Indebted

Review: Indebted By Amy A. Bartol

Indebted (The Premonition, #3)
Title: Indebted

I hang my head in sorrow for just a moment when I know I am truly alone. I feel like I’m going to my execution, just as he had said. Then I move forward again. I hop a fence of fieldstone and cross a field dotted with Queen Anne’s lace. Goose bumps rise on my arms as I pass the cluster of windmills that I have seen in a dream. The scent is sweet in the field though, not the scent of heat, like it had been when it was forced upon me in visions. I gaze down the hill, beyond the small, whitewashed house that I knew would be there. The church looms dark and grim with its rough-hewn, timber façade, capped by tall, oblong spires reaching to the sky. Black, ominous clouds have collected above the roofline, as if Heaven is showing me the way.

My Thoughts:
So Amy Bartol did it again, just when I thought that I couldn't fall more in love with this series. So I officially hate Russel, ok maybe not hate that's such a strong word. But I don't like that he just keeps kissing Evie when he knows that she is with Reed. Who is more than her husband they are bound together. And then there's Brennus, I wanted to hate him because he is just getting in the way of Reed but it was really hard to hate him. There's something about him that attracts you. And when I found myself succumbing to Brennus, Reed would appear and I would forget all about Brennus. I am not royally pissed and offended that Evie doesn't see Reed's potential in protecting her. Reed has proven many times that he is capable of kicking some butt, but Evie doesn't see that and keeps wanting to protect Reed. I get it that she is a Seraphim and that she has a compulsion for protecting her loved ones but it's just getting ridiculous. It broke my heart when Reed tells Evie that he has a hole where her wings are tattooed on him. But I also felt satisfied, at least Evie can now see how much she is hurting Reed. Anyways I like how Evie has doubts of her feelings for everyone else but Reed, she knows that she loves him and she never questions her feeling for him. I cant wait so see what happens in the next book. I just hope that I can get to read more  about Reed!

I don’t open my eyes so I can’t see him, but I can smell him. He thickens the air I breathe, choking me with his scent…his aroma. I shiver. I have to resist. If I’m not strong, then I will be relegated to the same fate as this predator whose sickness infects me even now. But now, I crave him and he knows that; he has been counting on my need to end the gnawing pain. How he would savor my surrender. I’m alive, but how much longer will it take until I beg him not to be?

My Thoughts:
So the series keep getting better and better. I really like how Amy Bartol writes its so captivating. I couldn't get enough of Reed and Evie. And Zee, I love Zee. Russel is annoying, again! I hate that he is only thinking about himself and not about Evie. If he really does Evie then why the hell is he thinking about when will Evie get over Reed so that he can console her and become something else. I understand that he is her soulmate but I feel like he is taking advantage of Evie because she is not emotionally stable. Also another thing that I hate is Evie, ughh! I just want to shake her! what is wrong with her? Trying to be a badass by leaving Reed to protect him! Come on Reed and Zee are very very OLD and are Powers thus meaning that they have been killing fallen angels all eternity. What makes her think that they can't fight? Anyways, aside from that it was a really good book. I thought that Bartol was done with shocking me but I was wrong. She just keeps throwing stuff at you that you don't expect. The characters are once again well written. I like Evie's friends which are Reed, Buns, Zee and Brownie. And I like the new characters too! like Finn and Preben. I still don't know how to feel about Brennus. He is dark and mysterious but annoys me with all his talk about having Evie as a "pet" and "slave". Maybe that's because he is just imposing on Reed and Evie's love. So, there you go this book was amazing and it's just one adventure followed by another and more villains.

Inescapable

My name is Evie Claremont and this was to be the making of me--my freshman year of college. I had been hoping that once I had arrived on Crestwood's campus, the nightmare that I've been having would go away. It hasn't.
I may be an inexperienced seventeen-year-old, but I'm grounded...sane. Since meeting sophomore Reed Wellington, however, nothing makes any sense. Whenever he is near, I feel an attraction to him--a magnetic kind of force pulling me towards him. I know what you're thinking...that sounds fairly awesome. Yeah, it would--if he liked me, but Reed acts as if I'm the worst thing that's ever happened to Crestwood...or him. But, get this, for some reason every time I turn around he's there, barging into my life.
What is the secret he is keeping from me? I'm hoping that it is anything but what I expect: that he is not exactly normal...and neither am I. So maybe Crestwood won't be the making of me, but it could be the breaking of me. I have been left to wonder if the dark future my dream is foretelling is...inescapable.

My Thoughts:
At first I had doubts about this book, I have read many books with a love triangle. But I thought what the hell why not read it? I have the book already in my hand. So that's what I did. And I fell in LOVE with this book. The characters are very well portrayed. It was about angels and I like the fact that they don't make the angels all lovey dopey, they are fierce in this book and have a kind of coldness that you don't expect even with the good angels. I was torn between both Reed and Russel but since the beginning I felt something more for Reed. So I am team Reed. The only problems I had with this book was Evie's naivety. I hate that she doesn't question Reed, it's like "Oh yeah you're a guy that can do creepy things that's awesome", if I had been her I would have been terrified. But Evie just takes it in like if it is a normal thing that angels exist. The other thing that annoyed me was the grammar. Especially because it was on purpose, Russel's southern drawl annoyed me big time. But overall it was a really good book with many twists and turns that I did not expect. I can't wait to read the next book.
