Feature and Follow #3

Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature & Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers -- but you have to know -- the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee's View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs!

How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, (using the linky tools -- keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!

What sets this Hop apart from others, is our Feature. Each week we will showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Who is our Feature today? Find out below. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow our Features and you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read) as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your #FF post. A lot of blogs are transitioning to Wordpress in which they do not have the luxury of GFC, so an RSS subscription is appreciated or if you choose an email subscription. If you don't have GFC please state in your post how you would like to be followed.

Here’s this week’s question:

If you could only have ONE – one book – for the rest of your life. Don’t cheat…what would it be?
__________________________________________________

My Answer;

Humm this is a really hard question. Only one??? Let's think....I would have to say "The Fault In Our Stars"

I've read many books since I was little but not one has ever let me as speechless and heartbroken as this one. The writing is done so beautiful, it flows really nice. And the characters! I just love them all! Let me show you some quotes that just made me fall in love with this book...

Waiting on Wednesday #4

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week I'm eagerly anticipating....

From Goodreads:
In The Indigo Spell, Sydney was torn between the Alchemist way of life and what her heart and gut were telling her to do. And in one breathtaking moment that Richelle Mead fans will never forget, she made a decision that shocked even her. . . .

But the struggle isn't over for Sydney. As she navigates the aftermath of her life-changing decision, she still finds herself pulled in too many directions at once. Her sister Zoe has arrived, and while Sydney longs to grow closer to her, there's still so much she must keep secret. Working with Marcus has changed the way she views the Alchemists, and Sydney must tread a careful path as she harnesses her profound magical ability to undermine the way of life she was raised to defend. Consumed by passion and vengeance, Sydney struggles to keep her secret life under wraps as the threat of exposure—and re-education—looms larger than ever.

Pulses will race throughout this thrilling fourth installment in the New York Times bestselling Bloodlines series, where no secret is safe.

Why I'm Waiting?

For one reason only and that is...
Yup that's right! That's all I've got to say on the matter!

Swoon Thursday #1

Swoon Thursday is a super HOT meme created by the fabulous girls over at YA Bound.

"He walked toward me slowly, his leather shoes pressing down the long grasses. I could feel his breath on my cheek as he leaned forward. My eyes fluttered shut, but I forced them open again. His breath was hot against my lips, and his face blotted out the sky, so I could see nothing but his eyes and the pores of his skin.

'Because,' he said in tones of honey and velvet, 'I've always had to push away people I cared about. You're the only one who ever pushed back.'

The words brushed against my lips and sent the butterflies tumbling again. He's going to kiss me, he's going to-

He leaned back and patted me on the head. My cheeks turned tomato-red as I glared at him.

He blinked and stared back, looking completely innocent.

'What?' he said. He took another look at me and burst out laughing. 'Did you think I was going to....?' He folded his arms, pressing his fingertips against the insides of his elbows as he laughed.

'I'm glad you think it's so funny,' I fumed. why the hell could he always pull one over on me?"
Pg. 156-57

Waiting on Wednesday #3

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week I'm eagerly anticipating....

From Goodreads:
You stop fearing the devil when you’re holding his hand…

Nothing much exciting rolls through Violet White's sleepy, seaside town…until River West comes along. River rents the guesthouse behind Violet’s crumbling estate, and as eerie, grim things start to happen, Violet begins to wonder about the boy living in her backyard. Is River just a crooked-smiling liar with pretty eyes and a mysterious past? Or could he be something more? Violet’s grandmother always warned her about the Devil, but she never said he could be a dark-haired boy who takes naps in the sun, who likes coffee, who kisses you in a cemetery...who makes you want to kiss back. Violet’s already so knee-deep in love, she can’t see straight. And that’s just how River likes it.

Blending faded decadence and the thrilling dread of gothic horror, April Genevieve Tucholke weaves a dreamy, twisting contemporary romance, as gorgeously told as it is terrifying—a debut to watch.

Why I'm Waiting?
I want it in my hands now! Why? May you ask. Well let's see umm...bad boy! This book grabbed my attention with this line "Violet’s grandmother always warned her about the Devil, but she never said he could be a dark-haired boy who takes naps in the sun, who likes coffee, who kisses you in a cemetery". Yeah kisses in a cemetery are always the best ones. Kidding, that actually sounds creepy. It's been a while since I read a gothic horror so that's why I'm waiting to read this book. Wish I had it right now....

Book Review

Review: Ink By Amanda Sun

Title: Ink
Author: Amanda Sun
Series: Paper Gods
Book #: 1
Pages: 362
Book Rating:.7
Goodreads Rating: 3.62
Published: June 25th 2013

On the heels of a family tragedy, the last thing Katie Greene wants to do is move halfway across the world. Stuck with her aunt in Shizuoka, Japan, Katie feels lost. Alone. She doesn’t know the language, she can barely hold a pair of chopsticks, and she can’t seem to get the hang of taking her shoes off whenever she enters a building.

Then there’s gorgeous but aloof Tomohiro, star of the school’s kendo team. How did he really get the scar on his arm? Katie isn’t prepared for the answer. But when she sees the things he draws start moving, there’s no denying the truth: Tomo has a connection to the ancient gods of Japan, and being near Katie is causing his abilities to spiral out of control. If the wrong people notice, they'll both be targets.

Katie never wanted to move to Japan—now she may not make it out of the country alive.

Okey so seriously guys did any of you thought of this while reading Ink?
Cause that's what ran through my mind all the time I read a part where Tomo brought a drawing to life.

Anyways going back to the book *sigh* I don't know how I feel about it. I did like it but I had such a hard time reading it. My biggest problem was Katie, she was so creepy going around stalking Tomo! I couldn't believe how obsessed she was with him. We get it Tomo looked mysterious but you don't start stalking people because you want to find their inner most dark secret!

And then another problem I had with the book was that sometimes Katie said or thought stupid things. She could have been a great character, but she sometimes did stupid stuff that left me thinking if I was her I would never do that! And because of this she sometimes came off as a Mary Sue.

I am sorry to say this but I felt I was reading Twilight all over again!
And for those who don't agree let's see...
-Obsessive,stalker-ish, person who falls in love: Katie. Check.
-Dangerous boy who warns the girl to stay away: Tomo. Check.
-Girl who has no sense of self-preservation: Check.
-Friends who only appear to tell the girl to stay away from the bad guy: Check.
-Third boy who falls for the girl, but the girl completely ignores him because she is to busy drooling over the dangerous boy: Check.
And I could continue on and on but let's not waste too much time in that.

Don't get me wrong I loved how the author made me feel like I have been transported to Japan. I learned a lot about Japan and it's culture (and some words too!). Another thing that I loved was the illustrations, even though there were not many of them, the few that were there were amazing! Anyways the book could have been great but it went down the road of the old YA book cliché. The ending did left me wanting to read the next book of Paper Gods. So will see if the next book is better.

_________________________________________________________________________
Here’s this week’s question:

Share something you’ve learned about book blogging or just blogging in general in the last month.
_________________________________________________________________________

My Answer;

I started my blog back in March 2012. I thought it was going to be easy, big mistake! I didn't understand the world of blogging so I decided to give up. Recently I decided to give blogging another chance, now I am learning many new things that I didn't know at first. So what I learned was that I had to be patient. Take deep breaths and then go to a fellow blogger and ask them to help me with some problems that I might have!:)

Vampire Academy Blood Sisters Trailer

So I saw Katie Cohen's post about the new teaser trailer that they released yesterday for the new movie Vampire Academy. There's only one word for it...AWESOME! And that's just the teaser trailer the full trailer will be released this evening (7:30 p.m. EDT, according to author Richelle Mead), so stay tuned if you want to see it. I know I'm going to be glued to my t.v.! So while we wait for the release of the trailer let's talk about the motion poster. I thought it was original and incredible I have never seen a motion poster and this one left me speechless. So here it is...

Let me just say that I have never, ever, been so excited to see the words "registration begins..."! Yeah I can't wait to register to this class;)

In USA Today some pictures were also released. The first one is of Rose...

And the second one is of Rose and Dimitri(HOT!)...

And here's the teaser trailer! Enjoy!

I personally don't really like that Zoey Deutch is playing Rose. I think Zoey is too sweet to play badass Rose, but I guess I will have to wait and see the movie. So what are your thoughts?
And here is the trailer!!!!Make sure you comment your thoughts on the trailer.

Waiting on Wednesday #2

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week I'm eagerly anticipating....
"You have to kill him." Imprisoned in the heart of a secret military base, Em has nothing except the voice of the boy in the cell next door and the list of instructions she finds taped inside the drain.

Only Em can complete the final instruction. She’s tried everything to prevent the creation of a time machine that will tear the world apart. She holds the proof: a list she has never seen before, written in her own hand. Each failed attempt in the past has led her to the same terrible present—imprisoned and tortured by a sadistic man called the doctor while war rages outside.

Marina has loved her best friend James since the day he moved next door when they were children. A gorgeous, introverted science prodigy from one of America’s most famous families, James finally seems to be seeing Marina in a new way, too. But on one disastrous night, James’s life crumbles apart, and with it, Marina’s hopes for their future. Now someone is trying to kill him. Marina will protect James, no matter what. Even if it means opening her eyes to a truth so terrible that she may not survive it. At least not as the girl she once was.

All Our Yesterdays is a wrenching, brilliantly plotted story of fierce love, unthinkable sacrifice, and the infinite implications of our every choice.

This book completely got me when I read the sentence "You have to kill him". I can't wait to get this book in my hands and see if the girl kills the boy. AND it also sounds interesting! I admit I have never been a big fan of time travel books, but this one sounds different. So hopefully it will be! So I'll just have to wait and see....
