Funny Quotes and Images on Reading

So I needed some cheering up and decided to look for some funny posts about books, so enjoy!:)
I can totally relate to this post! You find the perfect book to read but you just can't find the perfect spot.
I've lost count of how many times this has happened to me haha.
My parents think that I'm lazy because I wake up at 10 in the morning. Truth is I always end up going to sleep at 4 in the morning because I was reading a really good book, and that means that I need more hours to sleep haha.
If you have never mourned the death of a fictional character just read The Fault in Our Stars, that book will make you cry and miserable for days (but let me reassure you it's a really GREAT book).

If you don't get this one you deserve to be slapped haha!

This last one is not funny but I still love it...

Book Review

Review: Defy By Sara B. Larson

Title: Defy

Author: Sara B. Larson
Series: Defy
Book #: 1
Pages: 336
Book Rating:.5
Goodreads Rating: 3.61
Published: January 7th 2014

A lush and gorgeously written debut, packed with action, intrigue, and a thrilling love triangle.

Alexa Hollen is a fighter. Forced to disguise herself as a boy and serve in the king's army, Alex uses her quick wit and fierce sword-fighting skills to earn a spot on the elite prince's guard. But when a powerful sorcerer sneaks into the palace in the dead of night, even Alex, who is virtually unbeatable, can't prevent him from abducting her, her fellow guard and friend Rylan, and Prince Damian, taking them through the treacherous wilds of the jungle and deep into enemy territory.

The longer Alex is held captive with both Rylan and the prince, the more she realizes that she is not the only one who has been keeping dangerous secrets. And suddenly, after her own secret is revealed, Alex finds herself confronted with two men vying for her heart: the safe and steady Rylan, who has always cared for her, and the dark, intriguing Damian. With hidden foes lurking around every corner, is Alex strong enough to save herself and the kingdom she's sworn to protect?

So in this book we've got a girl who pretends to be a boy in order to serve in the king's army, reminds you of any Disney movie? So it's safe to say that we were all expecting a Mulan story right? I think that's the reason why this book was a huge disappointment. Mulan was actually brave and all badass, and Alex? Well she does nothing but cry and whine all the time. So let me tell you why this book disappointed me:

My first problem, control! Don’t you have any Alex? And she calls herself a soldier. I’ve seen more control in a chicken than I saw with Alex. She has been acting like a boy for a long time now but out of the blue all the guys become desirable to her. Alex sees Damian shirtless and “coated with a fine sheen of sweat” and what does she do? She becomes shy, stares at the guy’s chest and blushes. UMM HELLO! Don’t you work out with guys who sweat all the time? I thought she was used to seeing shirtless boys “coated with a fine sheen of sweat” all the time.  And Rylan oh how hot and beautiful he is with his chocolate brown eyes. Oh poor Alex how can she resist this delicious boys? it’s not like there’s a war going around her! You know I am tired of these ridiculous love triangles.  It gets BORING!!! With the same poor bastard guy who is actually a really nice person but who never gets the girl because she is all over the dark and mysterious bad boy! The whole freaking book was filled with stupid sentences like Alex’s heart “pounds”, it “constricts”, “beats erratically” and my favorite one “skipped a beat”. Her cheeks “grew warm”, “flamed”, “felt flushed”. Well that’s dandy it results that the best kick ass girl ever acts like a 12 year old girl with her first crush.

From Goodreads:
A new technology called Elusion is sweeping the country. An app, visor and wristband will virtually transport you to an exotic destination where adventure can be pursued without the complications—or consequences—of real life.

Regan is an Elusion insider. Or at least she used to be. Her father invented the program, and her best friend, Patrick, heir to the tech giant Orexis, is about to release it nationwide. But ever since her father’s unexpected death, Regan can’t bear to Escape, especially since waking up from the dream means crashing back to her grim reality.

Still, when there are rumors of trouble in Elusion—accusations that it’s addictive and dangerous— Regan is determined to defend it. But the critics of Elusion come from surprising sources, including Josh, the handsome skeptic with his own personal stakes. As Regan investigates the claims, she discovers a disturbing web of secrets. She will soon have to choose between love and loyalty…a decision that will affect the lives of millions.

Suspense, thrills, and romance fuel this near-future story about the seductive nature of a perfect virtual world, and how far one girl will go to uncover the truth behind the illusions.

Why I'm Waiting?

Isn't the cover lovely? I think it is haha. The book sounds interesting, although it makes me think of the movie Tron: Legacy from Disney. I hope it's not like the movie, even though the movie was good. Anyways I can't wait to read this book!

From Goodreads:
A flash of white light . . . and then . . . nothing.

When sixteen-year-old Kyra Agnew wakes up behind a Dumpster at the Gas ’n’ Sip, she has no memory of how she got there. With a terrible headache and a major case of déjà vu, she heads home only to discover that five years have passed . . . yet she hasn’t aged a day.

Everything else about Kyra’s old life is different. Her parents are divorced, her boyfriend, Austin, is in college and dating her best friend, and her dad has changed from an uptight neat-freak to a drunken conspiracy theorist who blames her five-year disappearance on little green men.

Confused and lost, Kyra isn’t sure how to move forward unless she uncovers the truth. With Austin gone, she turns to Tyler, Austin’s annoying kid brother, who is now seventeen and who she has a sudden undeniable attraction to. As Tyler and Kyra retrace her steps from the fateful night of her disappearance, they discover strange phenomena that no one can explain, and they begin to wonder if Kyra’s father is not as crazy as he seems. There are others like her who have been taken . . . and returned. Kyra races to find an explanation and reclaim the life she once had, but what if the life she wants back is not her own?

Why I'm Waiting?

Because the cover is gorgeous! You know that quote "don't judge a book by it's cover" well let me tell you that I do! Like 95% of the time I read a book because of it's cover haha, the other 5% because someone forced me into reading the book. Anyways this book sounds really interesting! Although I'm guessing it's going to be about aliens, I have to admit I don't like to read alien books but since this sounds really good I'll give it a try haha!:)
