I hang my head in sorrow for just a moment when I know I am truly alone. I feel like I’m going to my execution, just as he had said. Then I move forward again. I hop a fence of fieldstone and cross a field dotted with Queen Anne’s lace. Goose bumps rise on my arms as I pass the cluster of windmills that I have seen in a dream. The scent is sweet in the field though, not the scent of heat, like it had been when it was forced upon me in visions. I gaze down the hill, beyond the small, whitewashed house that I knew would be there. The church looms dark and grim with its rough-hewn, timber façade, capped by tall, oblong spires reaching to the sky. Black, ominous clouds have collected above the roofline, as if Heaven is showing me the way.

My Thoughts:
So Amy Bartol did it again, just when I thought that I couldn't fall more in love with this series. So I officially hate Russel, ok maybe not hate that's such a strong word. But I don't like that he just keeps kissing Evie when he knows that she is with Reed. Who is more than her husband they are bound together. And then there's Brennus, I wanted to hate him because he is just getting in the way of Reed but it was really hard to hate him. There's something about him that attracts you. And when I found myself succumbing to Brennus, Reed would appear and I would forget all about Brennus. I am not royally pissed and offended that Evie doesn't see Reed's potential in protecting her. Reed has proven many times that he is capable of kicking some butt, but Evie doesn't see that and keeps wanting to protect Reed. I get it that she is a Seraphim and that she has a compulsion for protecting her loved ones but it's just getting ridiculous. It broke my heart when Reed tells Evie that he has a hole where her wings are tattooed on him. But I also felt satisfied, at least Evie can now see how much she is hurting Reed. Anyways I like how Evie has doubts of her feelings for everyone else but Reed, she knows that she loves him and she never questions her feeling for him. I cant wait so see what happens in the next book. I just hope that I can get to read more  about Reed!
